They currently serve over 400,000 patients in Texas and Florida, directly employ more than 1500 physicians, as well as provide contracted medical management services to many independent practices.  Annual revenues last year were over $2 billion.

 

This exceptional position will perform Palliative services within a medicare aged patient population. All facilities served are high tech and state of the art within the greater Orlando metropolitan area.

 

This palliative care program provides care for some of our sicker patients - patients whose needs are beyond what our care management and clinic-based resources can provide, but for whom hospice services are not appropriate. Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient-physically, mentally, and socially-at each visit.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of health care providers
  • See patients in the clinic, SNF, and home settings along with utilizing telemedicine.
  • “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – Typically see 5 to 10 patients per day according to the setting.
  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy and management of patients according to current standards of care
  • Utilize managed care processes for cost-effective and efficient use of lab, radiology and extended service providers, including specialists, hospitals, skilled nursing providers, and other ancillary services
  • Complete timely and comprehensive medical documentation in EMR systems according to company standards
  • Participates with peers, employed specialists, such as dermatology, podiatry, and wound care for the comprehensive care of the patient
  • Conduct or directs education effective communications to patients, families, and other health care providers
  • Conduct educational activities for organization’s physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and their ancillary staff for the purposes of education and patient care
  • Participates in business and patient care meetings

 

 

Outgoing, caring and charismatic personality. Board Certification in specialty, the ability to manage life and death medical decisions with skill, knowledge of and experience with Medicare Advantage programs.

 

Graduate of an accredited Medical School recipient of MD or DO degree

 

A working knowledge of managed care

 

Board Certified or Eligible, or currently finishing a residency or fellowship program.

 

Unrestricted Florida license to practice medicine

 

Current DEA license

 

Fluency in Spanish, Desired but not required
